I cried at every one of my birthday parties until I was 13. How embarrassing.
I wasn’t even much of a crier but everyone was looking at me and that made me SO uncomfortable. I’ve always been shy and I was happy having just two best friends throughout Primary School (I chose well with one of them living on a Christmas tree farm in a family of chocolate makers) and I didn’t need much more.
I HATED answering a question let alone doing a presentation in class. So let me tell you, it is surprising that I am putting myself out there on social media and things. It is not my natural inclination to share videos and even talk about myself in this way. But it’s 2024 and if you’re running a business, this is just part of it.
For me, putting myself ‘out there’ takes a bit of energy.
I need a break from the old screen. But I’m also a bit addicted to the old screen too. I like to participate in it, creating content more than I spend time consuming it.

So this is a note to say a HUGE THANK YOU for subscribing here, both free and paid. I love this space here on Substack. It’s been wonderful sharing ideas with you over on this great platform that celebrates writing and community.
I’ll still be posting, but a little less frequently as usual over January. I need a little break and I really hope that you’re taking a break too.
Wishing you a very gorgeous Christmas, a peaceful family gathering and some relaxing time to yourself.
Love from Lauren and family
