I’ve just landed back after three weeks away and—look, I missed my family, obviously—but what I really missed was... my bed. MY glorious, cloud-like, snuggly sanctuary of a bed.

Just before I left, I gave our bedroom a little zhuzh, which (plot twist) started with a new mattress. Enter: DuuDuu.
Now, considering how many bedrooms I’ve designed over the years, you’d think the mattress would’ve been front and centre. But nope. I’ve been laser-focused on all the aesthetics—paint colours, bedheads, lamps, bedlinen —and totally forgot about the actual feel-good factor.
You know, the mattress. The bit you actually lie on. Every night. For years.

I found DuuDuu online and it was super easy to order the mattress, it was here before I knew it and VOILA! Here it is.
Benji, our three-year-old, climbs into our bed every single night. Like clockwork. And look, the kid does not sleep still. He’s a full-body wiggle worm. A midnight gymnast. A tiny human hurricane.
So I tried the DuuDuu mattress because it promised to keep things stable. As in: if someone’s flailing around on one side of the bed, the other side stays blissfully still.
And it’s TRUE. The mattress? Rock solid. I don’t move.
But —Benji is still climbing on top of me, arms draped, legs flung. So technically I’m not being woken by movement… I’m just being lovingly sat on.
Still, they’re only little once, right? And the third child? Oh, they get away with everything. Including midnight snuggles, 5am chats and somehow managing to take up 80% of the bed.
(But I secretly love it. Shhh.)

The DuuDuu mattress have this very cool fabric on top, which feels so cool to touch. Look, I don’t know what, or how it just feels quite lovely.
Safe to say, I’ve learned my lesson on putting aesthetics above function. And now? I’m sleeping better than ever and feeling very smug about it.
Thanks to DuuDuu for sponsoring this story on The Style Studies so I can keep writing away and sharing interior design things with you!
