It’s packed with all the good stuff, and you won’t want to miss out!
Right now Burgundy is having a HUGE moment. I’m excited about this one because although it’s a popular colour, it’s also one that I’m naturally drawn to. Love it when that happens - the whole ‘Scandi grey’ era was a hard one for me!
Flashback to when my (now) husband Phil and I moved into one of those ‘cosy’ 1960s apartments in South Yarra and I flanked the windows with burgundy tab curtains. Look, I was juggling a degree, multiple jobs (including one at a bedlinen store where I scored a major discount—thank you!), and somehow made it work. The burgundy just felt comfortable, like an old friend, and honestly, I loved it.
Burgundy is a really easy colour to pull into a space. It works best with the Pantone colour of 2025: Mocha Mousse.
Burgundy doesn’t work with white, it needs other warm colours in the brown, beige and taupe tones. So if you have white walls, try to introduce mid-dark wood pieces so that burgundy isn’t too jarring.
Trust me, once you bring it in, it’ll feel like home.
This is a free one for ya, but if you’d like to be a paid subscriber I’d love you to! - and you’ll get access to paid stories here.
This little round-up of burgundy goodness is here to spark some serious inspiration for your home. If you dive into this rich, warm colour now, you’re basically setting yourself up for years of love. Why? Because it’s right at the start of this trend cycle, my friend. You’ll be ahead of the curve, and honestly, it’ll never feel "done."
Enjoy the burgundy magic, and trust me, you'll thank yourself later.

A deep, moody rug not only adds warmth but also grounds the entire space. Just remember: rug legs under furniture legs. No awkward “floating island” rugs, please. We’re not monsters.

Furniture
Burgundy and upholstery is a match made in design heaven. Especially when wrapped in something deliciously textured like velvet or leather—seriously gorgeous.
As a sofa or accent chair, burgundy brings instant richness to a space, adding depth without trying too hard. But here’s the trick: it thrives against a warm backdrop—think soft taupes, moody beiges, or deep browns. But pair it with a stark white wall and it’s not its best look. Let it sink into those earthy, cozy tones instead.

Accent Pieces
Sometimes, one small but mighty piece in a bold colour can completely transform a space—truly! One of my favourite ways to do this? Side tables and coffee tables.
They’re the perfect sweet spot: not as scary as a whole feature wall, not as permanent as a giant sofa, but just enough to add oomph to a room. So why not make that piece burgundy? It’s rich, it’s warm, it’s effortlessly chic—and let’s be real, it’s way easier than repainting your walls on a whim.

Sprinkling in a few little refreshers can actually do wonders for your space—and your soul. Even something as simple as sipping from a burgundy coffee mug each morning means you’re effortlessly nailing that oh-so-perfect colour pairing: Mocha Mousse + Burgundy.
Basically, you’re not just drinking coffee—you’re curating a moment. And let’s be honest, you’re also painfully on trend!
